Sew Your Own Dolls
by C5
Most girls will be girls (and even some boys would love to be girls) and I have yet to hear a real girl who did not like to have dolls of her own. If she starts this early and continue on, perhaps she’ll have enough to display in her future apogee condo south beach unit!
MR5 is no different. She can’t buy one. I won’t buy one. Instead, I guided her to make one. That way, she enjoys and treasures her creation much better.
Actually, she made 2 sets and gave them as gifts to her cousins.
With her own bed and pillow and even a cover, this doll was made with love and patience. Her hair was actually sewn strand by strand from the the nape to the top because she wanted the feel of real hair that can be braided and combed.

The pillow has velcro to attach to the bed so it won’t fall off. The cover also has velcro on the sides. She thought of that. I did not inject the idea. The only thing I did was cut out the doll before she sewed it. I suggested the hair thing but she did it all the way. I just showed her how to do it.

This was her first doll…

…and this was the second. She improved lot.
